It’s Cool to be Kind!
Ideas to get you started:
- Host an animal-friendly book reading at your local library or pre-school. (Visit our Reading for Life link for a great book selection!)
- Recycle to raise cash for the Hawaiian Humane Society.
- Conduct a drive for pet toys, towels, shoe boxes, newspapers and other items from our wish list.
- Make a presentation at your Sunday school. (Download our Share to Care list for ideas!)
- Create a display on ways to be a responsible pet owner or the importance of controlling animal overpopulation.
Reading for Life
To truly enjoy a Hawaiian afternoon, why not grab a book and your pet and head for the nearest coconut tree? Use the Reading for Life link to get started!
Waianae Coast Teen Advisory Panel in fall 2010
Waianae Coast youth, age 14 and older, can make a difference in their community through Waianae Coast TAP. Teen leaders will train under the Hawaiian Humane Society to organize community events, develop teams and make Waianae Coast the best community for animals. Interested youth should apply now.
