Cat lovers are invited to the Humane Society on Sunday, June 13 from 10 am to 2 pm for ‘Meow Mele.’ Highlights include a cat training demonstration at 10:15 am and 12:30 pm, a household cat show sponsored by Aloha Cat Fanciers at 11:30 am. Kids can get their photo with Crazy Shirts’ Kliban the Cat from Noon to 12:45 pm and try their hand at cat toy making. All cats are invited to enter the cat costume contest at 1 pm. Throughout the event from 10 am to 2 pm, cats can be microchipped for just $5. Event attendees are encouraged to bring shoe boxes as a donation for the Humane Society’s shelter cats.
The Cat House will be brimming with felines seeking adoption. On June 13 only, the public can adopt two cats for the price of one. Throughout June enjoy our “Free Over Three” month-long special where all cats, age 3 and older, are free.
In addition, the Humane Society is offering up to 100 free cat sterilizations. Reservations in June are being booked now. Email cnakamura@hawaiianhumane.org or call 356-2229 to schedule a surgery date. This offer does not apply to feral cats.
Crazy Shirts has unveiled its original 2010 Love A Cat Shirt, specially created for the Humane Society. Sold at International Marketplace, Pearlridge Center and Ala Moana Shopping Center, each shirt sales generates a donation for the animals. Shirts are also available at the Humane Society at $25 for adult sizes and $18 for children’s sizes.
