What You Need To Bring To The Shelter
Animals will not be admitted to a pet-friendly emergency shelter without a crate or carrier (one per pet only) that’s large enough to accommodate the pet comfortably. Pets need an ID tag, collar and a leash, as well as a week supply of the following: food, medications and litter for cats.
Pet shelters are in separate rooms or buildings on public school campuses where emergency shelters for people are. The animals will be cared for by Humane Society volunteers. Hurricane season is in full swing and more volunteers are needed to help.
