Animal issues in the 2009 Legislature
The Hawaiian Humane Society would like you to know about these bills:
Temporary Restraining Orders, S.B. 1086 & H.B. 1512
Extends temporary restraining orders to include companion animals.
Pet Confinement, S.B. 1222
Relates to pet confinement, prohibits the use of a pinch collar, choke collar or prong collar, as a means of securing the dog to a stationary object. The bill also prohibits the confinement of a pet animal in a kennel or cage in a cruel or inhumane manner. Also includes a revision to the State's hoarding law which prohibits the possession of 15 cats, dogs or combination of cats and dogs.
